Fences & Gates

Fence Base

Combine 2 short sticks and 1 rope to make a fence kit. Once you have placed the kit in the desired spot you need to add  2 x wooden logs. Then use a shovel or pickaxe to install the posts.

Fence / Wall

After placing the base, you can create a fence.

Add 18 planks and 36 nails to the fence base, then use a hammer or hatchet to construct the fence; you’ll need to construct the framework and then the wall for upper and lower sections.

Optional: Use 6 x sheet metal, 8 x planks and 40 nails instead of the above to create a tougher gate/fence.

Gates

Gates are converted vanilla walls. To turn a wall in to a gate, add wire to the slot in the fence and then use pliers to mount the wire. It will then be a gate.

Upgrading fence/gate

If you have a wooden fence/gate that you want to upgrade to metal, use a hatchet to remove the wooden planks from the wall and insert 3 sheetmetal and 12 nails per upper/lower section, then use the hatchet again to construct.
